TORONTO - Le Meridien King Edward Hotel - April 17, 2010 - Dr. Richarda D. Russ, President and CEO of the Polish Orphans Charity presents cheque for $50,000 for the benefit of orphans.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who participated in making this year's 10th Anniversary Charity BALL POLOGNE on April 17th, 2010 a great success! Benefits have gone to orphans in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Ukraine.

A cheque for $50,000 was donated to orphans from these countries as a result of this Ball. A further $20,000 was donated for scholarships to children who lost their parents in the recent plane crash that killed the Polish president, his wife and 94 of Poland's elite near Katyn. Furthermore, $40,000 was distributed through our regular scholarship program for talented orphans in Poland.

The evening included many VIP guests such as diplomats representing the countries for which funding was raised to benefit orphans of these nationalities.

As always, the 10th anniversary charity Ball took place under the patronage and presence of former lieutenant governor of Ontario, Hon. Lincoln Alexander. We also welcomed new patrons, Mr. Lionel J. Goffart Q.C., and the Polish-Canadian Congress.

Featured was the Grand Salon Orchestra under the director of Kerry Stratton, music director of the Toronto Philarmonic Orchestra, a silent auction, more musical entertainment from world-renowned jazz pianist Adam Makowicz, a piano reception with Prof. Krzysztof Latala, and a spectacular performance by dance group, Brazil Nativa.
